Liver Damage And Such

Wow, what a week.

Thank all of you who showed up at the "surprise" party on friday night. That was a lot of fun. Now it is time to get back to some sense of normalcy again. With no more trips to Texas planned, it is time to get back to work, soccer practices, baseball games, and such.

I finished a pretty good book on the plane back home. It is called Kane and Abel. It is not biblical in nature like I thought it would be, seeing it on my mom's bookshelf since I was a kid. But anyway, two men born on the same day, end up being enemy's after Kane's bank refuses to loan Abel money to restart a hotel company after the death of the other owner, blah, blah blah. What got me thinking is that they carried this grudge with each other for 50 or so years, and tried repeatedly to destroy the others' empires, by using other people, so that they would not be found out and held responsible.

Again, thanks for the week-long birthday celebrations. Bud and I, on his birthday, last month, decided to have a marathon day hanging at our favorite watering hole. It was pretty successful, since the goal was to get drunk as hell. So, since that was so successful, we decided that we should try it again. Once again, victory was ours as we managed to spend in the neighborhood of 14 straight hours beer-bellied up to the bar. Good beer, good friends, and mostly good music, combined for a fun day and night. I am just glad that neither one of us has a birthday until next April. It will probably take my liver that long to recover.

Time to take another nap.

I have survived, so far at least, the events that took place last night / this morning.

I think I may have been responsible for the huge thunderstorm that has recently deluged the south side of San Antonio. I think that it was drawn to me, because, I am so dehydrated. You would think with all of the "liquids" that I consumed last evening, that dehydration wouldn't be a problem, but for those of you who do not consume copious amounts of alcohol on a regular basis (do any of you drink?), it tends to do just that.

I will now attempt to remember what was imbibed:

Beer- Somewhere in the neighborhood of 16
Crown Royal / Peach Schnapps Shots- 4
Jaigermeister (not sure on the spelling)- 2
Jaiger Blasters- 3

Well, there goes the rumbly-in-the-tumbly again, gotta go for now.

Alive And Kicking

I can't remember a Beastie Boys line referencing anything to do with airplanes or crashes or anything like that, so Simple Minds had to do. If anyone else can come up with one, let me know.

Yes, my plane did not crash (much to some peoples (should peoples have an apostrophe?) dismay, I'm sure). Can't cash in that $1,000,000 insurance policy just yet.

It sure is cold in south Texas this time of year. Jesus, I think I sweated off 5 lbs., just walking from the terminal to the rental car shuttle, which was approximately 25 feet.

This is the 1st day of my blogistense

In between loads of laundry, in preperation for my 3rd (I think, does anybody else know?) out of town business trip, I decided to create a blog. It seems to be all the rage with some of the people in my sordid circle.

Will it be theraputic? Doubt it, but maybe I'll get lucky.

Will it keep me out of the bar? Hell no, I'll just end up taking time at work to update this thing, and in a couple of months my boss will call me in to have, yet another, "come-to-jesus" meeting. Oh, well, Fuck it!

My plane leaves at 6:45 in the morning, and by the way, I am not a morning person, for San Antonio, with a lay-over in Houston. I spent most of last week there also. I didn't get much work done, but the night-life was nice. Really good food, and even better beer.

I may post again before I leave in the morning, but if I don't, can you guys (and you know who you are) start another pissing contest while I'm gone. It was kinda nice to not have to deal with all of that.

So, this is a blog

A month ago, I never thought I would do this, but here, or is that hear, I am. Please be patient with me, as I have never done this, and am learning as I go.

Welcome to my blog.
