Liver Damage And Such
Wow, what a week.
Thank all of you who showed up at the "surprise" party on friday night. That was a lot of fun. Now it is time to get back to some sense of normalcy again. With no more trips to Texas planned, it is time to get back to work, soccer practices, baseball games, and such.
I finished a pretty good book on the plane back home. It is called Kane and Abel. It is not biblical in nature like I thought it would be, seeing it on my mom's bookshelf since I was a kid. But anyway, two men born on the same day, end up being enemy's after Kane's bank refuses to loan Abel money to restart a hotel company after the death of the other owner, blah, blah blah. What got me thinking is that they carried this grudge with each other for 50 or so years, and tried repeatedly to destroy the others' empires, by using other people, so that they would not be found out and held responsible.
Again, thanks for the week-long birthday celebrations. Bud and I, on his birthday, last month, decided to have a marathon day hanging at our favorite watering hole. It was pretty successful, since the goal was to get drunk as hell. So, since that was so successful, we decided that we should try it again. Once again, victory was ours as we managed to spend in the neighborhood of 14 straight hours beer-bellied up to the bar. Good beer, good friends, and mostly good music, combined for a fun day and night. I am just glad that neither one of us has a birthday until next April. It will probably take my liver that long to recover.
Time to take another nap.
Later,
"B"
